Fun Fact:

The Erinyes served as guardians in the realm of the dead, where, under the command of Hades and Persephone, they oversaw eternal punishments inflicted on condemned souls. Their presence was thus inseparable from the darkest aspects of justice—relentless and eternal.

In some accounts, the Erinyes were associated with other personifications of vengeance and retribution. They appeared under various names and were closely related to goddesses such as the Poenae, representing retribution; the Arae, symbolizing curses; the Praxidikai, enforcers of justice; and the Maniae, embodiments of madness. Their roles often overlapped, forming a multifaceted image of deities combining terror and order.
