Fun Fact:
Mokosz is the goddess of fertility, protector of women, embodiment of motherhood, and a symbol of birth. However, she did not exist apart from other gods. A key opposition in Slavic mythology is the eternal battle between Perun and the underworld god Veles. Both were companions of Mokosz, and according to some sources, the abduction of the goddess by Veles led to the endless struggle between the supreme gods.
