Fun Fact:
The first known source mentioning Hecate is Hesiod’s Theogony, written in the 8th century BCE. In this work, Hecate is the daughter of the Titan Perses and Asteria. Interestingly, after the Titanomachy, Zeus did not strip her of her powers — a rare honor among the old gods. Hesiod presents Hecate as a powerful and benevolent goddess who assists people in hunting, travel, and battle. This portrayal stands in sharp contrast to her later, darker image.
